I was born in Nanaimo BC and am happy to say I’ve lived here ever since. Rocky beaches, quiet trails, and the natural old city charm is more then enough inspiration for any creative mind. My photography style is hard to describe as there isn’t any one category I prefer over another. From family portraits to landscapes to natures smallest life forms and everything in between, my photography is an expression of interest, passion and inspiration – in whatever form it may come.
For me photography has always been a way to escape, to find the moment in all the chaos that captures true beauty. In our fast paced world a single frame frozen in time by the snap of a camera allows us to appreciate and have clarity where we might otherwise forget. Memories are powerful things, evoking emotion and pulling us into the past if even for a second. The smile of a loved one, that first moment as Mr. and Mrs, or the way the sun kisses the horizon in that early morning glow – all beautifully captured and forever remembered as a perfect memory suspended in time. For me, it’s the small moments that make up the big ones. The flash of a camera taking a second out of time and keeping it still as the world and all that it holds moves forward. Admittedly aware of all that’s being left behind, a photograph. Capturing the laughs, the smiles, the romance, the tragedy, the memories! And above all, the unexpected, fragile, emotional, beautifully insane everyday moments that make up our lives.
